In the finale episode of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” Taylor Armstrong went on a drunken rant about her co-star, Heather Dubrow. The scene took place at Gina Kirschenheiter’s circus-themed party, where Armstrong had a few too many cocktails and started venting to her other co-stars about Dubrow’s behavior.
Armstrong’s anger stemmed from a previous incident where Dubrow had fallen asleep after leaving to get a bowl of soup and did not notify Armstrong and Jennifer Pedranti, who had planned to spend a night out with her in Mexico. It appeared that Armstrong had been enjoying several drinks throughout the evening and became increasingly upset when Dubrow showed up to the group event.
During her rant, Armstrong expressed her frustration, stating, “What Heather did to she [Pedranti] and I in Mexico was so uncool. She left us in our room.” When Pedranti initially tried to defend Dubrow, Armstrong shot back, saying that Dubrow “didn’t speak” to Pedranti for “three months until she needed you.”
Armstrong further escalated the situation by belittling Dubrow’s wealth, claiming that her own friends in Beverly Hills were far wealthier than Dubrow. However, Kirschenheiter interjected, reminding Armstrong that Heather and her husband had recently sold their Orange County mansion for a staggering $55 million. Despite Kirschenheiter’s attempt to diffuse the tension with humor, it was clear that Armstrong’s behavior was spiraling out of control.
The episode then featured a series of looped clips of Armstrong repeatedly venting about Dubrow. The comments ranged from incoherent statements such as “she hurt us,” to remarks like “I don’t wanna ruin the party or anything,” and even threats like “do not mess with me, because I will f**king come.” Armstrong’s inability to express herself clearly added to the chaos of the situation.
In one particularly perplexing moment, Armstrong declared, “It was about chicken soup, it’s not a big deal.” Kirschenheiter attempted to offer some advice, suggesting that if Armstrong wanted to confront Dubrow, she should approach the conversation with less anger. Armstrong’s response, “You think I seem angry?” indicated her complete obliviousness to her own behavior.
Despite Pedranti’s suggestion that Armstrong have a one-on-one conversation with Dubrow to resolve their differences, Armstrong disregarded the advice and joined the conversation between Pedranti and Dubrow. Directly confronting Dubrow, Armstrong immediately launched into a diatribe about how they had stayed home to listen and be supportive of her, only for Dubrow to leave and not return as promised.
Dubrow offered an apology but then justified her actions, claiming that she had only briefly sat down on a bed before heading out again. This response seemed to further agitate Armstrong, leading to a back-and-forth exchange about why Dubrow didn’t inform them and why they didn’t knock on her door to check if she wanted to go.
The conversation quickly devolved into a blame game, with Armstrong asserting that she didn’t need to chase her friends and that her friends actually showed up. This exchange showcased a lack of effective communication and an inability to find a resolution.
Throughout the episode, Armstrong made several peculiar comments, such as claiming that her wealthy friends were not pretentious and requiring assistance from Pedranti to put her outfit back on after using the bathroom. She also made a somewhat inappropriate remark about not attempting to pursue Shannon Beador romantically because Armstrong identifies as bisexual.
Armstrong’s behavior reached its peak when she took Pedranti’s ice cream cone and humorously “deepthroated” it by shoving the entire top into her mouth. While this may have been intended as a comedic moment, it further exemplified Armstrong’s lack of self-control.
Overall, Taylor Armstrong’s rant on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” finale showcased a woman who had indulged in excessive alcohol consumption and allowed her emotions to overpower rationality. Her lack of self-awareness, inability to communicate effectively, and problematic behavior towards her co-star only served to exacerbate the situation.
While reality TV often thrives on drama and conflicts between cast members, Armstrong’s behavior in this particular episode crossed the line into disrespectful and unproductive interactions. It is clear that Armstrong would benefit from addressing and managing her emotions in a healthier and more constructive manner.
